Terrific picture tile from the nursery rhyme series designed by Walter Crane, "A Baby's Opera," c. 1890. Here is "Little Bo Peep" from the Wheeling Tile Company, Wheeling, West Virginia. The tile is transfer printed in warm color. Walter Crane's initials appear contained within a circle at the lower right corner. It is in very good condition with light edge nicks; there was an issue with the transfer of the print onto the tile as can be seen--wrinkles appear in the image at the top of the tile. Please write with any questions you may have. I have included a photo from the actual Baby's Opera book from which these designs were copied; book not included in the sale.
