The Trees Are Waving Goodbye, Signed Bill Calloway Pen & Ink

Unavailable

Bill Calloway draws by implication rather than inspiration. Starting with a single line his paintings and pen drawings morph into intertwining lines to create a moment of insinuation that ultimately creates something quite unique. Some have found Calloway's art humorous, whimsical, satirical, demented, and sometimes even nightmarish. There is no in-between with his works, people either love them or hate them. A self-taught artist, Bill was born near Philadelphia and started drawing from a very early age. At the age of eighteen his ink drawings were shown at a local art show and caught the eye of painter and sculptor, Tom Bostelle (1921 – 2005). Bostelle bought all of Bill's drawings and decided to give Calloway a one-man art show outside of Wilmington, Delaware. Soon following, Calloway was invited to exhibit at the Dupont Experimental Station and various art shows in the Philadelphia and Wilmington area. Bill's paintings and drawings can be found in collections worldwide, including Oslo, Brussels and the French Riviera. Calloway is also an accomplished pianist and studied musical composition with Stefan Grové in Baltimore. Throughout his career he has accompanied Tiny Tim, Frank Fontaine, and Rudy Vallée. Bill Calloway's passion for creating art and music has allowed him to combine two of his loves into a unifying aesthetic experience.
