Antique Nude Locket PEACOCK Eye Watch brooch Nouveau

Unavailable

Most people can only DREAM of owning a set like this and believe me they are far and few between! This is a peacock eye (circa 1890-1920) brooch ( made for a locket or a victorian watch) with a raised relief figural peacock and woman on the locket. WOW what a FABULOUS piece of JEWELRY! The peacock eye is a Victorian symbol for the evil eye and this one has a brilliant colored hand blown Bohemian glass stone made of electric blue and meadow green foiling to resemble the center or “eye” of a peacock tail feather. In the ancient myths of Egypt, Greece, and Rome, the Peacock feather was a symbol of the ‘evil eye". Christians on the other hand adopted the symbol of the peacock to represent immortality. In any case The peacock is a symbol of beauty, prosperity, royalty, love, compassion, the soul, and peace. The brooch and locket together are 3 1/3" long and both are in GREAT condition. Truly something that will remain a collectible for many more centuries!.
