Basket vase Peters & Reed pottery

Unavailable

This unusual basket type vase is decorated with two floral wreaths in shades of green and rose against a background that shades from dark to rust colored brown. There are no chips, cracks Unmarked.

John Peters and Adam Reed founded their company just before 1900 in Zanesville, Ohio and operated the company until 1922 when it became known as Zane Pottery. Various lines were created including this standard shaded brownware decorated with applied pottery wreaths, all with a high glaze. Because many of the shapes were Weller molds it is unclear if they purchased the molds or pottery blanks from Weller.
