From the series of twelve images created by John Moyr Smith for Mintons China Works illustrating scenes from the books of poetry by Thomson, entitled "The Seasons", here is "Winter -- Sullen and Sad". This series by Mintons is particularly sought after and, as Lockett describes it, was "clearly a prestige product" when it was made. The tile is polychrome and printed in five colors. It is in excellent condition with light left edge nick near bottom; it is finished in a fine, glossy glaze. Please write with any questions you may have.
