Greenlee Yankee Push Drill Automatic w/ 8 Bits No. 482

Quantity available: 1

This is a very rare automatic push drill model, marked "NO. 482 GREENLEE ROCKFORD ILLINOIS PAT. PENDING" on the nickel plated sleeve of the main body. This is a spring loaded drill, that spins the drill chuck in a clockwise motion well you push the handle. Greenlee made the spring loaded chuck on this drill to except the well known "YANKEE" drill bits with the notch and flat on the shank. The full set of 8 drill bits (points) to fit in the chuck comes with the drill, and they are stored in the handle. The handle is hollow with 8 spaces to put points and one space to lock the cyclinder in place to keep the points from falling out. The handle is hardwood with a very dark stained finish on it. Everything works as it should, very good machanical condition. Appearence is about 95% like new with most of the wear on the wood handle, some minor wear on the nickel plating too. Overall a very nice, clean drill. A rare one!
