Wonderful 9 Tile Antique Fireplace Surround by Gallimore for Trent

Unavailable
Wonderful fireplace surround comprised of 9 6" tiles that form 3 panels (2 vertical and one horizontal) measuring 6" x 18" each. This pastoral scene was sculpted by W.W. Gallimore, an Englishman who studied and learned his craft at potteries in Stoke-on-Trent, England and at Belleek potteries in Ireland where he lost his right arm in an accident involving the explosion of a gun. He joined the Trent Tile Company in 1886 as designer and modeller. (See, Pottery and Porcelain of the US, Barber, E.A., 1893.) These three panels together create a hypnotic, contemplative mood with pan pipe-music in the background and are in very good condition. Please write with any questions you may have.
