Beautiful antique Wedgwood Jasperware teapot. This tea pot has women bringing sacrifices of fruit and produce to a priestess who burns them on a small altar. There are also some children and trees separate the groups. There is a border of acanthus leaves around the lid, and borders of laurel around the spout and handles. The applied bisque is especially thin and fine.
Marked - WEDGWOOD and ENGLAND
Circa late 19th to early 20th C.
Measures 9 inches handle-to-spout, 6 inch diameter and 4-3/4 inches tall.
Very Good overall condition. There is a manufacturers flaw on the spout (see photo). No other cracks or repairs found. The inside is crazed and tea stained as shown in photo.
