Walnut Victorian Humidor

Unavailable
Philadelphia made walnut Victorian floor model humidor. The slant lid top is made like a shingled roof. It is hinged and lifts up to reveal a small storage area. The interior of the main cabinet is all zinc or lead lined to keep the moisture in and the tobacco fresh. The front door and sides have inset panels with diagonal line decorative carvings. There are fancy strap hinges and locking mechanism made of nickle plated brass. We lightly cleaned portions of them to reveal the shiny nickle surface. They could easily be further cleaned at the customers request. We have had a chest of drawers and an icebox made in a very similar “shingled” style in the past. All were purchased in the Philadelphia area. The quality of the construction, finish and style indicates they were made in that city – most likely by Allen & Brothers. A unique and lovely piece of furniture! Circa: 1875. Dimensions: 43.5″H x 26.5″W x 19″D. Finish: Good thick original finish with a rich original patina. Several minor normal scratches in the finish. Price: $4250.00
