Here is another beautiful doll from Nancys Dolls & Antiques. This is called a Toddles and was made by the Vogue Doll Co in the 1940s and was the precursor to the later Ginny doll of the 1950s also made by Vogue. This one is all composition on a 5 pc jointed , strung body. This doll is called Bunky. He has side painted eyes and eyelashes and soft red lips with brown eyebrows. His face paint is very good with light pink cheeks also. He has blonde hair which is mohair and nice and thick in a boy style. The rest of his composition is nice. He is marked Vogue on his neck and Doll Co. on his back. He is wearing his original yellow knit long sleeve top with a little dog appliqué on it. His matching shorts are also knit. The best part is that his shorts still has the original Gold Foil Vogue sticker still attached to it. A very rare tag to find. He has the yellow knit hat as well. And lastly he has on the original yellow gold oilcloth center snap shoes, both with perfect snaps and his white rayon socks. The stringing is fine and he can stand on his own. There are no stains or odors either. The Toddles dolls rarely come in this great condition with all of the pieces of the outfit in such nice shape. Look for his mate Binky (exact match) in a separate sale and my other Toddles dolls Hansel and Little Red Riding Hood.
