Vintage White Horse Enamel Cufflinks Red Blue White 1742 Tavern Scotland Souvenir Patent advertising business. This is pair of Vintage White Horse Enamel Cufflinks. They are Red, Blue and White and have quite a story. See Below. These cufflinks say White Horse on the top, there is a white horse in the middle and on the bottom there is Estab 1742. Marked Pat 2920363 on the back. The story of White Horse Distillers can be traced back to 1742 on the misty island of Islay just off the West Coast of Scotland. Sir Peter Jeffrey Mackie of Scotlands renowned family, figured prominently in White Horses history. The Mackies were an old Stirling-shire family who had owned property in Edinburgh since 1650. The property was near one of the most famous of all ancient inns the White Horse Inn in the Canongate. Rich in highland history, the White Horse Inn has attracted famous literary and theatrical people and earlier had been a favorite rendezvous for Prince Charles Edwards cavaliers.
