These buttons are similar to the other buttons I have listed. These are from the same lot that I found the others, so these were also very dirty and had to be cleaned to the point of polishing the brass to a shine. I didn't think I could ever get these clean, but now that they are, they have lost their dark aged patina that they should have had without all the dirt layered on them!Anway, they are clean now, and are still quite pretty. There is slight loss of some of the enamel on all 4 of these buttons. Not enough to be too noticable, but, if you are experienced in painting, you should be able to use some kind of enamel to touch up a few spots, or just leave them in their original condition, and enjoy their beauty. They are very pretty just as they are, and they wear their age well. The shanks are intact and the backs of the buttons are a shiny brass. There is some copper behind the enamel work and in between enameled metal sections. There is some loss of bits and pieces of the enamel, as you can see in the photos.
