This vintage ladies beret style hat is made out of cream colored felt wool, with a band of gray wool around the base and another band around the top. The top is spiraled and gathered towards the middle with a red loop center. The inner band is made out of red ribbed rayon and measures 20" around. There is a white satin Schiaparelli Paris label attached to the inner band at the back. Elsa Schiaparelli was a daring and flamboyant fashion designer who established a house of couture in Paris that existed from the late 1920's until 1954. She popularized brilliant colors and corroborated with the likes of Salvador Dali to design fabric, and Christian Dior, among many others. This hat is in excellent condition.
