Vintage Russian Soviet Silvertone with inset Enamel Oval features Historic Monument. Enamel is done in pastels and black. The sides of the holder has a freighter and a sailing vessel. Very nicely detailed. Measures 4 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches across including the handle, glass size is 2 3/4 inches across. Authentic Russian podstakannik (meaning "under the glass") or tea glass holder. Made to hold a hot glass of tea and protect the hands from burns. The bottom has Russian makers mark (photo).
