Vintage RCA Portable AM Tube Radio Model 8BX6

Unavailable
Vintage RCA Victor portable AM 6-tube radio, Model 8BX6, from the late forties, in aluminum and Bakelite case. This precursor of the modern portable radio, with the RCA "Golden Throat Tone", can be operated with electricity or battery power. The volume control, tuner and tuning dial are under a sliding cover; the radio shuts off when the cover is closed. The case of this great retro radio is in good condition, intact, with mostly surface wear. There is a 5.5 - 6 inch crack in the Bakelite on the right side, but the body is stable. The radio powers on and emits a steady hum, the dial lights up, the red tuning indicator mechanism works well, but we are uncertain what would be needed to get it to play. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and condition. Shipping and handling will be determined based upon zipcode.
