Vintage Luster Bird & Flowers Wall Pocket Unusual

Unavailable
This vintage gold luster wall pocket with the wonderful little upside down parrot is so typical of the great old wall pockets made in Japan around the 30's. The parrot has bright reds, greens and blues with a touch of yellow. The blue tree limb is a little unusual, but works with the other colors of the pocket. The clusters of white flowers around the parrot are very pretty. The shape of the pocket which is often described as a dagger, is unusual and a hard to find shape. It flares at the top and is 2 inches across. The neck narrows and is 1.5 inches. A small raised area made to look like handles are just before the round body of the pocket which is just over 2 inches again. The long slender bottom of the pocket has three flared ridges on each side and comes down to the end which is less than 1 inch wide. The luster surface is in good condition with only a couple of glaze skips and 3 small bubble pops on the side that occurred in the manufacturing. The wallpocket was used and shows some old mineral deposits down inside the pocket. The hanging hole has some rugged edges that occurred when the hole was made and are glazed over. The back has a red spot of nail polish that I scrapped away and under it was the red Made In Japan mark. I know I describe my wall pockets in more detail than most, but I have collected them for many years so I notice all these things and want people to know what to expect. This unusual shape will look great among your other wall pockets or be a wonderful gift for the collector you want to buy for.

I am adding more wall pockets daily so check my inventory for other items. This item will be shipped from Texas. It can be combined with other items shipped from Texas to save on postage.
