An attractive 1950s 18K yellow gold brooch prong-set with round brilliant-cut chrysoprase. The stones are brighter green than usualnearly an emerald colorand could easily be mistaken for emeralds except for their translucent quality. The gold setting is reminiscent of a cactus. The gold surfaces are nicely textured. The back retains the original pinstem and trombone clasp with French 18K gold hallmarks. Origin: France, ca. 1955. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 1-3/4 x 13/16. Weight: 7.0 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: .2 carat.
