Vintage Bronze Snowy Owl Lamp & Shade

Vintage enameled bronze snowy owl table lamp and matching shade. This charming and distinctive lamp features a rather fierce snowy owl perched upon two red and gold covered books on a gold base. The base, including the owl, appears to be enameled bronze; impressed on the back of the base is "SNOW OWL", which is another name for the snowy owl. A curved brass arm rises from the base to hold the light bulb housing, lamp harp, shade, and brass finial. The light gold shade is made of a heavy, waxy paper, and is accented with darker gold stars which are reminiscent of the 50's and 60's. The lamp measures about 19 inches high, including the finial, and the shade is about 9 inches high and 12 inches in diameter at the bottom. The bronze base is about 8.5 inches high. The lamp is in very good working condition. The bronze base is quite heavy and appears to be solid. It is intact, with no damage; the enameled surface shows some surface wear and loss of enamel. The brass arm also shows some surface wear. The shade is in very good condition, with a handful of shallow creases and a few small areas of darkened discoloration.
