Late 19th century majolica jug in the shape of a corn cob - heather pink interior. Quite large, measures 21 cm high and 15.5 cm wide handle to spout (8.1/4 inches by 6.1/8 inches). It has a glaze area missing in the base at one side, and another piece of slip which appears to be loose - there is a crack in the glaze running up the handle, and a crack across the base of the handle, although the handle has never been off. Another piece of glaze is missing from inside the jug, low down. Best idea is not to wash the jug! Good display item, and so typical of the period.
