This fine clock date to the mid-1880's and the solid brass movement has just been sonic-cleaned, oiled, serviced and rebushed. This is an 8-Day Time Only (No Bells) clock that runs silently and accurately. Adjustable slow/fast on pendulum bob which may be an older replacement. Key appears to be the original.
A very hard to find black slate case with brown marble ornamentation and hand-tooled Eastlake Victorian Spoon Carvings on cabinet.
Original Brass bezel and sash, door opens and closes exactly the way it should. Dial is porcelain with Roman Numerals, a very fine hairline, barely perceptible at the numeral 8. There is what appears to be an excellent factory repair to the top of the cabinet at the left rear corner - see photo - which is correctly done, very tight, probably 130 years old and does not detract in any way.
Perfect for a mantle or table clock and makes a superior presentation for itself. JUST SERVICED by a professional horologist, no some garage tinkerer.
Sales to the lower 48 only - this is a very heavy clock, so postage and insurance will be in the $40 range to the west coast. We accept personal checks and Paypal.
