Victorian bride's basket

Unavailable
Beautiful American made Victorian brides basket. The fancy silver plated frame seems to be signed “S.C.P Co Conn” (see photo). I tried to reference the maker with little success. Most of the famous silver plating companies from the period were located in Conn. The frame handle consists of a twisted rope and cable design with attached leaves. The lovely case glass insert has a ruffled edge and exhibits various gradations of pink. It is hand decorated with a gold and white enamel design. The outside of the insert is white. One of the better brides baskets we have carried! Circa: 1870 Dimensions: 12″H x 12″Diameter. Finish: Mostly original tarnish on the frame with minor polishing Price: $895.00
