Imagine a pocket watch on steroids and then you can see how HUGE This car clock is. IT would have probably been mounted in a casing of some sort ( see photo of an example which is not included in this sale). I was told many of these were put into chauffeur driven limos . It is a really great car clock by Hodgson Kennard. Basically it is a very super large and heavy Pocket Watch, but it runs for a week. About 2 3/4" not counting stem. In modern days you could incorporate this into many places like a Desk or small table, paperweight, or even a car! Designed for cars, featured heavy duty construction and wind indicators,and to run eight days, (sort of like a large pocket watch, but would run for a week.)SO you know if this was made for bumpy roads it has to be a durable clock. It is running as I am typing but please note I am not a clock collector so I don't know anything about these except a little history.
