Unusual Royal Dux vase surmounted by gryphon or eagle heads and a top reticulated rim. Good antique piece of Royal Dux. Royal Dux is the more common name for the Duxer Porzellanmanufaktur, which was founded by E. Eichler in Dux, Bohemia (now Duchov, Czech Republic), in 1860. By the turn of the century, the firm specialized in porcelain statuary and busts of Art Nouveau–style maidens, large porcelain figures, and ornate vases with three-dimensional figures climbing on the sides. Measures 7" wide and 6.5" tall. Circa 1900. Condition is very good with no chips or repairs.
