Brass hilt with two guard bars featuring swelling central double knobs, linked by diagonal bar and joining the brass lion-head pommel. Integral reverse thumb ring and double side rings, each filled with a brass plate embossed with a running stag. Wood grip with original twisted brass wire wrap and ferrules. Curved single-edged 29 ½" blade with broad single fuller, lightly pitted and showing a number of deep edge nicks, likely from combat. Brass with pleasing mellow patina. Overall length 35".
