STEUBEN GLASS CO, FREDERICK CARDER ERA, IVRENE BOWL~~~

The Bowl Displays a very beautiful Mother of Pearl Iridescence both inside and out. When held to the light the glass it is a little translucent. The inside iridescence is more brilliant than the outside. The outside is a lot more matte and subtle. The iridescence is just wonderful as you can see beautiful tones of Fuchsia and blue on the interior. Looking inside the Bowl is like looking at a mirror as the reflective qualities are just excellent. The Glass is so thin and smooth it has very similar glass qualities as Frederick Carder's "Verre de Soie" Glass.

The Bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is an inclusion on the interior of the Bowl pictured 2nd picture. This is like a Black Spec of sand that did not liquidify during manufacturing and is Not considered a stain.The Bowl is unsigned but it does displays a counter sunk polished Pontil. This is the finishing mark of Quality Art Glass. This piece more than likely had a Triangular Foil or Paper Label at one point. The Bowl Rings like fine china when flicked with your fingernail.

This was known as White Aurene and was part of Frederick Carder's Aurene Family. Other colors were Gold, Blue, Green, Brown and I believe there were a few other colors. Purchase with confidence as quality Art Glass is becoming harder and harder to find. I have only had this form a few times in my 35+ years as a dealer. You rarely find the Ivrene items and they are considered somewhat Rare!!

Steuben's Aurene was registered in 1904, and ceased production in 1932. This bowl was made circa, 1920-1932.
