This is a nice clean folding steel rule with three nice straight sections for a total of 36" maximum lenghth. It is marked "NO. 460 THE L.S. STARRETT CO. ATHOL MASS. U.S.A." on one side. The inch graduations are marked on both sides, one side with 32nds, the other 8ths. As you can see, the marking on this type of steel rule are actually raised on the steel surface, and large, so they are fairly easy to read, and in good shape. You can also see some staining on the bare metal. This is common with these older rule since they were not made of stainless steel, nor were they chrome plated, so the stains are where minor pitting or surface rust once was. No rust now, otherwise minimal wear, good crisp edges and corners. The joints are very nice and snug. This rule was very nicely made, and a pleasure to use!
