This is a top quality precision inside tubular micrometer with the capacity of measuring from 1.5" to 32". It was used a few times, but is basically in 99% as new condition with only noted wear on the original 17" long hardwood and the cardboard box. Both boxes are in great shape, not damaged, just some finish stains and minor dings. This micrometer was inspected and adjusted as needed, then the inspector used a small amount of a sealer at the adjustment point to record the adjustment and help keep from tampering by the user. That is the reason for the colorful small dabs on the calibration points. The material can easily be removed if needed in the future. This set also comes with a chart that tell the user which rods to us to extend to the correct diameter desired. The cardboard box is marked No. 823FZ and each of the two micrometers are marked "STARRETT NO. 823" on them. A top quality set by a well known maker!
