Offering this nice 13" long, single speed breast drill that is marked "MADE IN U.S.A." on the crank handle. This drill was most likely made by Stanley since the chuck design and overall design are basically the same as other Stanley breast drills, the blue color on the crank wheel is the color used by Stanley on some lower cost tools like the HANDYMAN line in the mid-1900's era. This is a rather rare model, due to it's small size. This model has a three jaw chuck set up for the round shank drill bits, up to 5/16" diameter, and features the spring loaded jaw return design. The chuck actually works quite well, and is easy to tighten, and the bit tested runs true on center. Overall in very good condition with a very nice spring loaded chuck, good solid hardwood handles (painted black), and adjustable position breast plate. A few minor flaws noted, such as a few dings in the side handle, but very solid with a good metal ferrule keeping the crack closed, it is not rusty, in very good shape, and very clean, there is about 85% of the blue intact on the crank wheel, and about 70% paint intact on the breast plate, looks nice. The gears are all in great shape, turns smoothly (a little loose fitting in the main shaft bushings, but normal for this type tool). Overall a good, straight breast drill, clean, not rusty, works great!
