Stanley No. 10 1/2 Carriage Rabbet Plane 1892

Unavailable

Offering this very nice late 1800's era carriage maker's rabbet plane with a cutter that is marked "STANLEY PAT. APRIL 19.92".  The No. 10-1/2 plane was first sold in 1885 and at that time has an adjustable throat, this plane is most likely a type 2 or 3.  It has the older style short front knob and rear tote also.  It has the cast number "NO. 10 1/2" just behind/under the depth adjustment frog wheel.  Overall this plane is in very good shape, appears to be all original no rust, minor wear except on the cutter, we note one small chipped cutting edge corner.  The rest of the cutter is very sharp but we decided to leave the cutter at it's current state and let the new owner/user decide on sharpening the cutter to clean up the small corner chip.  A rather rare plane!
