One of the many books from the Estate of Francis P. Fretwell that we will be selling. The library is the largest privately owned collection of dog books in the world. Mr. Fretwell was the owner of Monfret Kennels, which bred champion standard poodles. He was former president and governor of the Poodle Club of America, and the Italian Greyhound Club of America. He also served as a delegate to the American Kennel Club for decades. His wonderful collection of books has been carefully maintained. *** Snowball. By Betty Ren Wright. Racine, WI: Whitman Publishing Co., 1952. (16p.), color illustrated glossy paper over boards, with "fuzzy" material for the dog's fur, illustrated in color throughout by Florence Sarah Winship. Poodle juvenile ﬁction, very cute, with all the black fur on the poodle respresented by "fuzzy" material on each page (including cover and title page). Boards have some edge wear, Mr. Fretwell's bp on front fixed endpaper, interior clean and sound. VG+ condition.
