This is a nice carving chisel that was part of a large collection of mostly English chisels like S.J. ADDIS, HERRING etc.. This one is V-shaped parting chisel. It is marked by the maker, "S.J. ADDIS" on the steel, a well known English tool maker. We note the quality of the steel is very good, and the condition of the chisel is also very good, ready to use. It measures a 3/16" wide at the widest point of the cutting edge, and is 7.75" long overall. The handle is nice looking and in very solid condition. A nicely designed, quality made, carving chisel!
