You are looking at a large beautiful oil on canvas by famous artist Vito Ruggeri. This painting is signed by the artist and is in excellent condition. The painting title is Antique Floral. Ruggeri was a prominent Florentine artist and is well recognized in his unique accomplishment of classic antique floral paintings. His paintings lend a rich warmth and charm to any room. It appears this piece was imported by TMC a Chicago gallery in the 1930’s or 40’s, the TMC stickers are on the back of the frame as well as a short bio of the artist. There are a few surface scuffs on the top portion of the canvas but they do not go through the paint and can only be seen in bright light from an angel. The Victorian style frame is in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks or chips that I can see. There is a brass tag across the bottom of the frame that reads RUGGERI. I do not know the maker of the frame or exact date it was framed. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. The frame measures 37 7/8 inches tall, 47 5/8 inches side to side and 3½ inches front to back. The total weight for the frame and painting is 12 pounds.
