Unavailable
1942 Paul Berdanier tinted etching print of "The Old Homestead" in original mat and frame, pencil-signed by the artist. Paul Berdanier (1879 - 1961), noted American artist and illustrator of Long Island, New York, is particularly known for his etchings. His work is displayed in many museums and galleries in the USA and abroad. This beautifully done print depicts a cottage and outbuilding nestled among trees alongside a stream. It is predominantly in creams, greens, and pinks. Berdanier is signed in the lower right corner; "The Old Homestead" is pencil-written in the opposite corner. Just above the title is the copyright symbol and E.J.S. 1942. The piece is framed in natural hardwood that looks like maple. The light cream mat board has double lines inked around the mat opening which adds some depth to the matting. The frame measures approximately 25.5 inches high, 31.5 inches wide, and 1 inch deep. The image measures approximately 17.5 x 23.5 inches. The back is covered with brown paper; E.J.S. COMPANY, 35271 is stamped on the back and there is a hand-written 63153-53-31. The print and frame are in very good condition. The etching print is undamaged. The frame shows light wear and a small dent in the wood at the back of the top. The backing has some tearing but is essentially intact. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and condition. Shipping / packaging / handling will be $35 - $65, depending upon the zipcode and location of buyer.
