Sideboard, Mahogany, American c.1830

Unavailable
To an American pedestal sideboard of the c.1830 period. One side contains the original revolving decanter holders and the other side has sliding shelf drawers for linen. The top contains a long drawer and the two pedestals are fitted for storage. This sideboard displays an unusual serpentine form and is uncluttered by carving and ornament. The pedestals match the shape of the top. And the piece is veneered with finest figured mahogany with deep rich patina finish. The secondary woods are American ash and white pine. At one time there might have been a brass gallery to the top which is now lost. Due to it's form this piece would fit well in a contemporary as well as period setting.
