This Art Deco period bronze, after the French artist, Theophile Francois Somme (1871-1952) depicts a lovely semi-nude female snake charmer holding a flute iwth a snake wrapped around her arm and another emerging from the ground.  The base is constructed from molded plaster and color washed to appear as marble. Measures 13.5" high, 13" wide and 6" deep.  Provenance: Christie's in London, November 10, 2000, $5,048.
