RIVIERE STUDIOS FILIGREE SLAG GLASS LAMP QUEZAL

American Filigree-Overlaid Slag Glass and Patinated Metal Table Lamp Probably Riviere Studios, Early 20th Century. Very similiar to the Tiffany Studios grapevine or pine needle pattern slag glass and bronze overlay desk sets. Riviere Studios and Tiffany Studios, both of New York, made almost identical copies of Tiffany's Grapevine pattern. Sometimes they signed their desk pieces, which makes identification simpler. The workmanship is not as fine and the patina is generally greener. Some of the items have different shapes than Tiffany. This fine lamp includes a Quezal shade that probably came with it originally. I've had this lamp personally for 25 years and know the lamp came this way then. A possible addition of a light in the base appears likely. Stunning combination or great beauty in an early lamp. Quezal ball shade is 8" across and part of a signature is visible. The lamp stands just over 20' tall. A nice sized table lamp in superb condition.
