Rare antique circa 1920-1950 Official Boy Scouts of Canada Rover Knife with Leather Sheath made by Chris Johnson & Co in Sheffield England. the Johnson plant in Sheffield was sold to Wostenholm in 1956)

This knife is in the same style as others that carry the official Boy Scouts of Canada marks but has a rare checkered composite handle rather than smooth wood.

Sturdy steel blade is stamped CHRIS JOHNSON & Co SHEFFIELD ENGLAND. Ricasso etched: OFFICIAL BOY SCOUTS OF CANADA. Lower part of the blade etched with Boy Scout Fleur de Lys with "Boy Scouts" scroll below. Checkered composite handle with recurved pommel pierced with the hole for suspension cord, secured to the tang of the blade with three iron rivets. This knife was worn in the top of the summer uniform knee sock.

CONDITION: Showing signs of usage, it has some wear on the blade and light spots of thin rust, stitches on the leather scabbard slightly split.
