Prussian or German Military Officer Balque KPM Plaque

This oval KPM plaque bears the portrait of a military officer, likely Prussian (pre-1871) or possibly German (post-1871). The plaque measures 10.6" by 8.6" and the frame measures 17.5" by 13" by 3.75". The rear is signed " A. Balque Dresden ". The painted image is in excellent condition. The plaque has a couple flake chips at the bottom which are not noticeable from the front with the plaque residing within the frame. This officer is wearing a dark grey or black tunic, with gold colored buttons, passants with two white stripes and the number " 7 " in yellow within a red circle on white background, and bordered with a gilt metal crescent, and with golden colored epaulettes.
