Primitive Mascot Egg Scale (circa 1900)

Unavailable
My experience with egg scales started when I was a child on our farm in Ohio. I was responsible for collecting, washing and weighing our eggs. Why were eggs weighed? People do not consider how the eggs they purchase are classified. The grading of eggs by weight began about 1900. This particular scale was made by the Mascot company around this time. It is a great collectors piece or a great rustic display for your kitchen.
