Porcelain Cigarette Set

Unavailable
Quite a number of years ago, cigarette boxes with matching ashtrays were popular for use in living rooms across the country. This set is typical of, or perhaps a little fancier than, most. The box itself has capodimonte-style roses (under glaze), and raised leaves which are cold-painted. Surprisingly enough, the curly-cues are intact; however, a very small amount of the green cold paint is rubbed away. The edges of all three pieces are sprinkled with gold paint under glaze. Underneath, they are stamped with "4150" in green, and each also has a silver sticker. The stickers are unreadable, but the imprint of "Lefton" is identifiable with close scrutiny. There is some crazing found with a close look also. None of the points of wear mentioned here are of consequence. The set is a nice representation of tobacciana in years gone by.
