Patinated Metal Mirror After Arbus & Poillerat

Unavailable
This mirror after the original designed by Gilbert Poillerat (1902-1988) and Andre Arbus (1903-1969) measures an impressive 58 by 38 inches (147 by 96 cm). Mirrored glass measures roughly 24 by 16 inches (61 by 41 cm). This mirror is believed to be a reproduction after the original produced in 1948. It is fashioned from shaped, green patinated metal (believed to be steel) with golden bronze mounts. An example of the original mirror is pictured on page 84 in Les Décorateurs des Années 40, published in 1998 and edited by Jean-Louis Gaillemin, which details the important French designers and decorators of the 1940s. It can also be seen in an article by Philippe Seulliet entitled "Crème de Cocteau" in "The World of Interiors" (October 2003, p. 275). This item resides in our client's gallery on the Upper East Side of Manhattan ( New York City ) and may be seen by appointment.
