Pair of Large Antique Meissen Potpourri Jars

Unavailable
This pair of antique (mid to late nineteenth century) porcelain lidded pot-pourri jars by Meissen measure an impressive 26" tall, 18" wide and 16" deep. They feature encrusted flowers, mounted cherub and neoclassical female figure with flower basket, and reticulated lids with bouquets. Condition is every good. There are a handful of losses to flower petals and a restoration to a break at the edge of one pedestal. These jars are similar to a single Meissen jar from the same period which was sold by Christie's in London on May 12 2009 in lot 404 for $22,650. Please study our images carefully and feel free to contact us with any questions. These items reside with our client in midtown Manhattan in New York City and may be seen in person by appointment. Additional images gladly forwarded upon request.
