Pair of Chinese Seated Emperor and Empress Carved Ivory Sculptures

Included here are a magnificent king and queen seated on thrones in royal settings, surrounded by foo lions and servents. These carved ivory sculptures exhibit the highest level of craftsmanship. They are believed to date from the early to mid twentieth century. Condition of each is very good. There are no visible losses or restorations, and each has a handful of cracks to the floor boards, consistent with age. Rear walls are comprised of five panels which fit into the base. All are free standing, but we have added small strips of adhesive tape so that they stand perfectly upright. Dimensions: 19.4" H X 18.5" W X 15" D (49.3cm H X 47.0cm W X 38.1cm D).
