Pair of 50" Antique Canton Chinese Celadon & White Porcelain Vases
This matching pair of monumental, nineteenth century Cantonese porcelain vases measure 50.75" (128.9 cm) tall, and feature a celadon green ground with raised white slip decoration including flowers, trees, butterflies and dragons. There are no hallmarks. All four handles are extensively restored. One vase has an area of restoration to the inside edge of the rim measuring approximately 8" long. This vase also has extensive restoration running horizontally around the shoulder, likely to repair or conceal a crack. This vase also has restoration around the bottom of the body, just above the foot. The other vase has restoration around the very bottom of the body just above the foot. All restoration has been well done. Additional images forwarded upon request.
