Our exceptional pair of gilt bronze sconces, circa 1880s, after the original Louis XVI period design of Pierre Gouthiere (1832-1813) measure 53 inches tall.  They feature a lyre at center surmounted by a mask of Mercury with four foliate cast candle arms with berry vines and leaves and a tied ribbon backplate.  Each in good condition. There is rubbing wear, scuffs and scratches, and a few of the bronze "strings" in the lyre of need to be remounted which we will do prior to shipment.
