Pair French Empire or Restauration Ormolu Bronze Candlesticks

$9,950.00
Quantity available: 1

Our client's pair of gilt bronze candlesticks in the neoclassical style are distinguished by their elaborate and ornate designs, including acanthus leaf nozzles emanating from Roman style military helmets, reeded acanthus stems and laurel swags with shields, and stepped square bases decorated with wreaths.  An exceptional pair of gilt candlesticks dating from the early to mid 19th century, likely during the Restauration period.  Each 17 3/8 in (44 cm) tall.  Each in good condition. A few areas of verdigris, plus scratches, nicks and scuffs, consistent with age. Clearly well cared for throughout their history.
