Beautiful pair of early 19th Century hand colored lithographs by Marianne Colston (1792 - 1865) author of the "Journal of a Tour in France, Switzerland, and Italy, during the years 1819, 1820, and 1821, illustrated by fifty Lithographic Prints" published in London in 1823 and part of the collection of The New York Public Library. The text on the lithographs reads as follows: N�20 The Castle of Henry 4th, & part of the Town of Pau, Basses Pyrenees. June 14, 1821 Marianne Colston Lith de Villain, rue de S�vres N�11. N�24 The Bridge over the Adour, at Bayonne. June 6, 1821. Marianne Colston Lith de Villain, rue de S�vres N�11. Nicely matted and framed. In good used condition with toning, foxing, stains and imperfections as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number. Measurements: Frame: 22.75" by 19"; Visible Image: 14.5" by 11" approximately.
