Pair Art Deco Style Red Brown Onyx Sardonyx Stone Table Lamps
Included here is a pair of modern table lamps crafted from sardonyx stone, otherwise known as red onyx. Each measures 23.3 by 12 by 12 inches and each weighs an estimated 20 lbs. They are in excellent condition with no damages. Their translucent shades and frames are crafted from slabs of stone approximately 1/4-3/8 inch thick which glow warmly when lit. Onyx is formed of bands of chalcedony in alternating colors. It is cryptocrystalline, consisting of fine intergrowths of the silica minerals quartz and moganite. Its bands are parallel to one another, as opposed to the more chaotic banding that often occurs in agates. Sardonyx is a variant of onyx where colored bands are sard (shades of red) rather than black. Both have fractures and old repairs to the top tip of their shades. One has had a little filler added as well. Both bases are fine, and light up as well.
