Pair Antique Mahogany Upholstered Foot Stools

Unavailable
This pair of mahogany footstools date from the late 19th century and feature their original Arts & Crafts needlepoint upholstery with flower basket motif. Each measures roughly 11" square and 4" high. The pair was appraised for our client in 1988 by Sotheby's for $2,500. (We will gladly provide a copy of the appraisal at time of purchase.) Needlepoint is stretched across drop-in tops that fit inside the square frames that set upon ogee bracket feet. Needlepoint is a bit dusty and could use a thorough cleaning, but its wear is minimal for upholstery of this age.

Additional images gladly forwarded upon request.

These stools come from the collection of Roni Steinberg Sokoloff and resided in her former 63-acre estate in Bedford New York known as Cantitoe Farms. (Formerly known as Sycamore Farms, the estate is down the street from Martha Stewart's home.) The pair were purchased by Ms. Sokoloff in the 1980s.
