This pair of Chinese porcelain jars in the Famille Verte style by Samson et Cie feature dore bronze mounts on the domed lids with flowers and fruit, and are mounted on classical bases with ribbon-tied berry laurel motif, and raised animal paw feet. Each measures 21.25" tall with a diameter of 9". The jars alone (without tops) measure 16.5" tall. The undersides show the familiar Samson mark, plus two blue rings and the Lingzhi fungus mark characteristic of the Kangxi period during the Qing dynasty. They each have four large reserves of blossoming flowers and branches on a bleu souffle ground.
